Realtor Interview Series – San Diego Housing Predictions with Rod Watson of The Watson Group Realty

Question: What do you think the San Diego area housing market will look like in through the remainder of 2013?

Answer: As long as rates continue to stay low I think we will see steady growth in overall home sales and average sales prices well into 2014.

Question: What are the latest real estate technologies or technology trends?

Answer: Right now I am seeing a dramatic shift in how buyers and sellers are using technology. Buyers and sellers are using social media and mobile technology more when it comes buying, selecting an agent and even selling their homes. Right now I’m currently focusing more of my business on mobile technology apps, and bringing value through social media.

Question: Can you talk a little about the foreclosure inventories and/or how you’re helping people avoid foreclosure?

Answer: Yes over the past 12 months I have seen foreclosures decline by 20-25% in San Diego County due to government programs like loan modification and short sales. Due to the lack of distressed properties it has help a lot of struggling under water homeowners see as much as 17% in appreciation this year. My commitment to helping homeowners is still my passion and I am currently still actively helping homeowners avoid foreclosure by educating them about programs like cooperative short sales and HAMP loan modification programs.

Question: How does The Watson Group Realty bring value to clients?

Answer: Today buyers and sellers have access to a lot of information at their finger tips. My number one goal and focus is to bring higher than expected level of services and results, by utilizing my knowledge of the market place, negotiation skills and ability to provided relevant content that brings value.
